Troy Aikman Responds to Jerry Jones’ Trade Teasing Amid Cowboys’ Loss

Dallas Cowboys icon Troy Aikman addressed owner Jerry Jones’ light-hearted jab about making a trade before the deadline during the team’s Monday night defeat against the Arizona Cardinals.

Jones shared his thoughts on Stephen A. Smith’s Sirius show, referencing the Cowboys’ situation as they trailed 24-10. Aikman’s reply was quite candid.

“He might want to rethink that trade,” Aikman remarked. “Based on what I observed tonight, I doubt a single player can shift the dynamics of this team.”

The Cardinals ended up clinching the game with a final score of 27-17.

Afterward, Jones hinted to reporters that discussions about a trade are still underway. Recently, it was reported that the Cowboys are in the process of finalizing a deal with linebacker Logan Wilson from the Cincinnati Bengals, who sought a trade last month.

Wilson missed the Bengals’ Week 9 match against the Chicago Bears, though he has a total of 46 tackles this season, maintaining a record of over 100 tackles from 2021 to 2024.
