Michael Rapaport Critiques Zoran Mamdani’s Stance on Hamas

Actor Michael Rapaport has come forward with strong criticism of Zoran Mamdani, the leading candidate for mayor of New York City from the Democratic Socialist Party. Rapaport expressed frustration with Mamdani for failing to call for Hamas to disarm, bluntly labeling him as “a real piece of shit.”

In a recent interview, Rapaport recounted a moment when Mamdani was asked if he supported Hamas giving up its weapons. Instead of providing a straightforward answer, Mamdani veered off into abstraction, which Rapaport, referencing his appearance on “Bill Maher,” ridiculed.

Despite Mamdani’s evasiveness regarding Hamas, he seems unequivocal about other political matters, particularly regarding the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “It’s curious,” Rapaport pointed out, “you have a clear stance on Netanyahu’s potential arrest in New York, but when it comes to Hamas, it’s a different story.”

Rapaport added, “This guy is really full of shit.” He expressed disbelief that the situation has reached this point, emphasizing that it seems bizarre yet, here we are.

As reported, Mamdani’s recent appearance on Fox News also drew attention. During the broadcast, he repeatedly sidestepped questions about whether Hamas should lay down its arms. Host Martha McCallum highlighted Mamdani’s tendency to blame Israel and the United States for the unrest sparked by the October 7 massacre, while seeking his opinion on Hamas.

When directly questioned about if terrorist groups should disarm, Mamdani smartly shifted the conversation, stating, “We need to ensure that any future here in New York City is affordable for everyone.” He reiterated the need for peace regarding Israel and Palestine.

McCallum pressed on, asking, “But don’t you think Hamas should lay down its arms?” Once more, Mamdani refrained from asserting that terrorist groups ought to relinquish their weapons.

Rapaport, who had previously encouraged supporters to back former Governor Andrew Cuomo over Mamdani, criticized the candidate for allegedly misrepresenting himself to voters. He stated, “This clown wants New Yorkers to think he’s one of us, but he doesn’t belong here.” Rapaport described Mamdani’s approach as seeking to play the role of a New Yorker without genuinely embodying the experience.

The actor claimed that Mamdani would resort to any tactic to secure votes, offering empty promises and scripted responses. “It’s like he’s cosplaying as a New Yorker,” Rapaport remarked. “Everything he says seems aimed at getting attention rather than representing any real intent to govern.”

Interestingly, Mamdani’s political journey began in high school when he ran for student council vice president. He made grand promises—like providing fresh, locally sourced juice—which he later admitted were unrealistic.
