Dallas Cowboys Struggle Against Cardinals
The Dallas Cowboys faced a setback, losing to the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night, which brings their season record to 3-5-1. Quarterback Dak Prescott recorded 259 passing yards, along with one touchdown and one interception.
Despite his struggles, Prescott remains a notable player with 2,319 passing yards this season, ranking fourth in the NFL. However, criticism has been aimed at the Cowboys’ defense, and recently, Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors took a jab at Prescott’s performance. He labeled Prescott a “bad guy,” implying that the quarterback will leave Dallas without securing a championship title.
In a clip from his podcast titled “Why is Draymond Green talking about football?” co-hosted with NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Green wasn’t shy about dismissing Prescott’s stats.
“He’s putting up some numbers, but honestly, it’s not impressive,” Green stated. “Duck is no good…you can’t win with Duck.” Though he acknowledged Prescott’s talent as a quarterback, he expressed reservations about Prescott’s effectiveness in crucial moments.
“I want to clarify, I’m not saying Dak is a bad NFL quarterback,” Green continued. “He plays well, sure. But under pressure, in key situations, that’s when I have my doubts. Let’s be real—he’s an a**hole.”
Even with defensive issues hanging over the team, Prescott has been vital in building an offense that ranks third in the NFL for points per game. Unfortunately, turnovers and red-zone failures contributed to the team’s defeat against Arizona.
Green also weighed in on Prescott’s impressive contract, suggesting that the quarterback missed big opportunities to win when he had a strong supporting team. The 32-year-old is currently earning a hefty $65 million, which makes winning even more challenging. “When he was on the best team, with everything set up to succeed, he underperformed,” Green remarked. “To win at that pay, you need to be like Patrick Mahomes—that’s pretty tough.”
In the past 25 years, the Cowboys have only managed to win four playoff games, and their last appearance in the NFC Championship Game was in 1995, following their last Super Bowl victory. The Cowboys will have a bye in Week 10 before heading to Las Vegas to face the Raiders in Week 11.
