Greene calls Ocasio-Cortez ‘jealous’ after ‘revenge tour’ remark

Greene labels Ocasio-Cortez 'jealous' after 'revenge tour' claim

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) brushed aside assertions from Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) that Republicans in Georgia are on a “vengeance trip” within the party.

In a discussion on NewsNation’s “The Hill” Wednesday night, Greene rejected Ocasio-Cortez’s claim that she plans to run for the Georgia Senate, referring to the Senate as a place where “all good things go to die.”

“I don’t want to find myself where all the good ideas and bills I’m passionate about get completely shut down. I really see the system as failing,” Greene remarked to NewsNation’s Blake Berman.

“Another issue with AOC is I think she’s a bit envious that I got the chance to visit her home state and have meaningful conversations with women on ‘The View,'” Greene added.

Earlier this week, Greene was featured in a notable interview on ABC’s “The View,” where she expressed unwavering support for President Trump despite recent criticisms of the Republican Party.

“It’s important to engage with those on the other side and have respectful dialogues. When I say people are exhausted by political theatrics, they really are,” she stated during her NewsNation appearance.

Additionally, Greene pushed back against a report from NOTUS suggesting she was in discussions with fellow congressional members concerning a potential bid for the presidency in 2028.

“People are fed up with misleading claims like that article,” Greene told NewsNation. “I’m tired of silly attacks like the one in AOC’s video.”

Ocasio-Cortez addressed Greene during an Instagram livestream on Monday, accusing her of embarking on a “revenge tour” after allegedly being thwarted in her Senate aspirations by Trump.

“I’ll make you some tea,” Ocasio-Cortez said, adding, “Marjorie Taylor Greene wanted to run for Senate in Georgia… Trump said no, and since then she’s been on this revenge journey.”

Greene refuted these accusations as mere “gossip.”

“I don’t have a high regard for her,” Greene commented on the New York Democrat. “She hasn’t achieved much beyond being a member of Congress, so I’m unclear on what she really brings to the table besides gossip, but folks are getting tired of it.”
