Sunny Hostin Questions Marjorie Taylor Greene’s Authenticity
On Wednesday, Sunny Hostin from “The View” expressed skepticism about whether Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has genuinely changed following a friendly encounter with her co-hosts. Hostin suggested that Greene’s apparent shift in demeanor might simply be a strategic move to advance her political ambitions.
“I don’t think she’s changed,” Hostin remarked, recalling her inquiry about Greene’s evolution, to which Greene reportedly responded, “No, I’m the same person.” Hostin reflected on how, as people grow older—Greene is in her 50s—they often remain largely unchanged but may alter their behavior for a specific goal.
Hostin speculated that Greene is likely eyeing a higher political office, perhaps even the Senate or presidency, though she wasn’t entirely convinced that a new version of Greene was on display. “I just thought someone was acting differently,” she stated during the show.
During Greene’s appearance on “The View,” she surprised the co-hosts with her critiques of the Republican Party while maintaining an unusually civil tone.
In response to speculation about her intentions to run for president in 2028, Greene dismissed those claims as “baseless.” She conveyed a desire to focus on current issues, including passing a jobs bill.
After a candid exchange with Greene, Hostin, admittedly caught off guard, shared her surprise about Greene’s character, a contrast to what she had perceived from news clips. Greene reminded her that this was their first meeting, which perhaps highlighted the disconnect between public perceptions and personal interactions.
Reflecting on the conversation, Hostin noted feeling somewhat aligned with Greene’s views, although Greene countered by emphasizing her unwavering support for Donald Trump and her commitment to her constituents.
Greene insisted that civil discourse was key, stating, “I think all of us here are doing a great job of exchanging our ideas.” She argued that this kind of respectful dialogue is desperately needed in America.
In recent weeks, Greene has also made waves by criticizing fellow Republicans over the government shutdown, gaining some praise from “The View” co-hosts for her calls to both parties to work together for a resolution.
