Jeremy Renner Responds to Accusations from Director Yi Chou
Actor Jeremy Renner has strongly denied allegations made by Chinese director Yi Chou. She recently claimed that he sent her explicit images and threatened her with deportation, which Renner has labeled as “completely false.”
Chou stated this week, claiming that Renner, who is 54, sent her “a series of unwanted/unsolicited pornographic images” back in June. She mentioned that, upon confronting him about this, he allegedly threatened to contact Immigration Services.
In a statement, Renner’s representatives refuted Chou’s claims, describing them as “completely inaccurate and untrue.” His lawyer, Marty Singer, escalated the response, calling Chou’s allegations “false, outrageous and highly defamatory,” suggesting they were retaliation for rejected romantic advances and her refusal to promote his projects online.
According to Singer, Renner met Chou in July at a hotel in Reno, Nevada, while interviewing her for her documentary. He described their encounter as a “brief consensual encounter,” and noted that they had another meeting in August. However, Renner reportedly hasn’t communicated with Chou for over a month, while she continued to send him unsolicited messages.
Singer added that Chou harassed Renner with numerous unsolicited sexually explicit messages, claiming that the real narrative reflects her persistent pursuit of him despite limited interaction on his side.
As this situation unfolds, both parties are standing their ground, leaving many curious about what will happen next.
