Candace Cameron Bure Reflects on Faith and Marriage
Candace Cameron Bure, known for her role in “Full House,” has shared some personal insights about her nearly three-decade marriage to former hockey player Valerie Bure. In a recent interview, she opened up about the challenges she and her husband have faced over the years.
“Life is full of disappointments,” Bure remarked. “Whether it’s issues with family, losing someone close, or trouble in our careers, these experiences take many forms. It’s tough when things don’t go as planned.” But she emphasized, “God is all about restoration, and that’s incredibly meaningful to me.”
Reflecting on their marriage, Bure mentioned a particularly challenging period, calling it a “real valley of conflict.” Despite the pain, she expressed how they managed to “bounce back” from those tough times.
As someone deeply rooted in her faith, Bure is embracing the holiday season with two new Christmas films, including “Another Sweet Christmas,” her first theatrical release. She emphasizes that her faith grounds her in all aspects of her life, including her work.
Bure’s latest project, “Rise and Renew,” serves as a devotional aimed at helping readers reconnect spiritually, particularly during trying times. She said, “I wrote this to encourage everyone facing disappointment, to rise up every day and focus on the truth found in God’s Word.” She hopes it provides spiritual fulfillment and renewed strength.
“We feel heartbroken, overwhelmed, and anxious, so I wrote this devotional to encourage people to rise up every day and renew their minds about who God is.”

She is dedicated to encouraging others to renew their spirits daily, striving for strength, courage, joy, and love.
The couple has three children, including Natasha, who will be featured alongside her mother in the upcoming holiday film. It’s a family affair, as Bure describes the projects as not just another Christmas movie but also a chance to celebrate their family dynamics.
Candace Cameron Bure and Valerie first crossed paths in 1994 at a charity hockey game. Their engagement was announced in 1995, and they married the following year.
With “Another Sweet Christmas,” set to be released in theaters from November 30 to December 2, Bure shares, “Our fans loved the first movie, so we thought it would be exciting to continue the story. It’s special to show a wedding this time.” She will also co-star with Cameron Matheson, continuing their on-screen romance.
Ahead of this, she’s excited about another project called “Timeless Tidings of Joy,” where she stars alongside her daughter. This film aims to explore family relationships and dynamics, rather than the typical romantic storyline. Bure described it as a unique approach and hopes it resonates with families for generations.
“It’s really special,” she said, emphasizing the film’s focus on the bond between a granddaughter and her grandmother. “It feels like a family keepsake.” The film will be available exclusively on Great American Pure Flix starting November 13.
