Kelly Clarkson Returns to Las Vegas Stage

Kelly Clarkson graced the stage once again at her Las Vegas residency, marking her first performance since the passing of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock. The event turned into a warm celebration on Friday night at the Colosseum in Caesars Palace.

During the show, Clarkson helped a fan propose to his boyfriend—it was a heartfelt moment amid the festivities. The fan knelt in front of the stage as Clarkson encouraged him to “speak louder!” which added a touch of humor to the engagement. The question was simple: “Will you marry me?” To which, the partner enthusiastically replied, “Yes, b–!” as he accepted the ring. The entire audience erupted in applause, and Clarkson couldn’t help but beam, saying, “You look so great!”

As the couple explained they were visiting from London, Clarkson joyfully noted, “You’re invited to the wedding now!” She offered her congratulations, adding a lighthearted, “Please ignore the next song.” It felt like a special moment, just, you know, a mix of fun and genuine warmth.

Interestingly, Clarkson also facilitated another romantic moment later in the show, helping a couple who had been married for a decade renew their vows. After reading from a paper they provided, she playfully commented that, “If Blake Shelton can do this, anyone can,” referencing their shared time on “The Voice.”

As she guided the couple through their vows, she asked if they’d promise to keep dancing together for the next several decades. It was a charming and quirky line, reminding everyone of the little joys in long-lasting love.

Back in August, Clarkson had postponed her residency due to a family emergency connected to Blackstock. They were married from 2013 to 2022 and share two children, River Rose and Remington Alexander. Reflecting on the challenges of that year, she mentioned the need to be present for her kids during tough times.

Just before Blackstock’s death, he had been battling cancer for over three years. His family shared a heartfelt statement following his passing, requesting privacy as they grieved. Since then, Clarkson resumed filming her talk show, which premiered its new season recently, and announced she’d be returning to the Las Vegas residency next August with newly scheduled shows.

Clarkson’s return to the stage showcases her resilience—a testament to her ability to bring joy to others, even during such poignant times.
