Tamra Judge shares her 'really special' reunion with daughter Sidney after years apart

Tamra Judge Reunites with Estranged Daughter Sydney

Tamra Judge recently shared the emotional details of her reunion with her daughter, Sydney, after a long period of estrangement.

“She came over and wanted to have lunch with Sophia, so when I saw her, I went outside and hugged her,” the “Real Housewives of Orange County” star, 58, recounted through tears during Friday’s season 19 reunion.

“We spent about 30 minutes talking about life, and she was really sweet.” It was a moment she described as “really, really special.” Judge mentioned that Sydney would return, which offered a sense of hope.

The relationship between Judge and her 26-year-old daughter faced challenges following Tamra’s divorce from Simon Barney in 2011. Back then, tension had escalated, leading to Sydney siding with her father.

During a reunion episode in 2016, Judge explained how Sydney had said, “I don’t want to live with you anymore. You ruined my father’s life.” That marked a turning point in their relationship, as Sydney chose to distance herself from Tamra.

Despite the custody arrangement that allowed shared parenting, it became clear that Sydney was uncomfortable in her relationship with her mother, leading to Tamra ultimately giving up custody. In addition to Sydney, Judge shares two other children—Spencer, 25, and Sophia, 20—with Simon, as well as a son, Ryan, 39, from a previous marriage.

Fast-forward to more recent times, and it seems there’s been significant improvement in their family dynamics. Judge shared on Page Six’s podcast “Virtual Reali-Tea” last year, “She’s in touch with her brother and sister now, so that’s good news.” There appears to be progress, which is encouraging.

Even amid their struggles, Judge has expressed her pride in Sydney’s accomplishments from a distance, noting, “She’s doing great things in the film industry.” Her success is a mother’s wish fulfilled, even if there’s still a long road ahead. “You can hope for more, but ultimately that’s in God’s hands,” she said.

Despite the challenges, Tamra’s love for her children remains evident, as she conveyed in her reflections on her relationships with them, noting how close she feels with Sophia while acknowledging the distance with Sydney. “It’s like a child is gone, but they’re still alive,” she remarked, poignantly capturing the complexity of their situation.
