Charlotte Jones, daughter of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, expressed her excitement about the NFL inviting anti-Trump rapper Bad Bunny to perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show, calling it “awesome.”
In a discussion on the katie miller podcast, Jones addressed critics of the NFL’s decision to feature the Puerto Rican rapper.
Upon learning of the halftime announcement, Jones remarked, “I think it’s great.”
She further commented on the broad appeal of the NFL, stating, “Our Latino fan base is amazing. When you think about the Super Bowl, you want the best performers in the world to be there. We’re on a global stage, and we can never forget that. Our game is for everyone, and I think it’s fantastic to have top-tier entertainers wanting to be part of our event.”

Jones new reflected on America’s diverse cultural roots. “We have a mixed culture, and our entire society is based on immigrants who founded our country. I think we can celebrate that. The show will be great,” she said.
However, there seems to be some confusion regarding Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio, as he hails from Puerto Rico, which is a U.S. territory. He didn’t technically immigrate there, as he remains based in Puerto Rico.
Podcast host Katie Miller pressed Jones on her support for the rapper, especially in light of Jones’ criticisms of the NFL’s announcement. He had warned that Americans would need to “learn Spanish” for the halftime show, demonstrating his discontent with the U.S. and sharing divisive anti-Trump views.
Despite this, Jones remained firm in her belief that “Bad Bunny” will be “awesome.”
“I don’t think our game focuses on politics,” she insisted. “Fans tune in for the game and the music, not for political commentary from either side. That moment is about bringing people together.”
It’s worth noting that the NFL has often integrated political messages into its programming, supporting various left-leaning initiatives, including Black Lives Matter, and advocating for social justice issues over the years, which paints a somewhat less harmonious picture.
