Another week in the NFL has passed, and with Thanksgiving approaching, the stakes are really starting to rise.
Some teams, like the Patriots, are asserting themselves as strong contenders, whereas others, such as the Bills, seem to be falling apart. The Colts are on a winning streak that looks promising for postseason play, while teams like the Seahawks and Rams, sharing a division, are likely to face off against each other soon.
It’s a bit concerning to see some of these plays week after week. Here at Skinnypost, we’re keen on figuring out just which aspect of the game brings the most joy (a little chuckle there).
How worried should the Bills be about their situation?
New England fans have endured some tough seasons for quite a while; it must have been quite frustrating. But now, things are looking up for them, and I can’t help but feel happy for their success.
For Patriots supporters, life is sweet right now. Their impressive win against Tampa Bay was a highlight, and it was almost comic to see Treveyon Henderson in action. On top of that, the Bills faced a shocking defeat against the Dolphins, of all teams.
The Bills, meanwhile, are playing dangerously close to disaster, and it’s starting to genuinely concern me. With half the season still available, they might face challenges as they try to break through their division. Watching New England struggle previously, it’s tough to see them now as the team to beat.
Their fans must feel worried and focused right now.
After just beating the Chiefs, the Bills’ loss to the Dolphins should raise alarms among their supporters. It’s like they’re on the edge of a major crisis. They revamped their defense to match their offense, yet a speedy back from Miami overwhelmed them.
Complicating matters is the Patriots’ rise to become a top team under Mike Vrabel’s first coaching year. What started as a rough prediction now has the Bills feeling quite stressed.
Are the Seahawks or Rams likely to make it to the NFC Championship Game?
Part of me really believes that one of these teams will. Honestly, if the Lions can stay injury-free, they could be an opponent for either team. The Eagles don’t seem as threatening, and both the Seahawks and Rams are showing offensive strength, which gives me hope for the top teams in the NFC North.
If I had to pick, I’d lean toward the Rams. As a supporter of another team in L.A., I feel a bit conflicted about that, but McVay has a solid Puka Nacua and Davante Adams to work with this year. And we can’t forget how well Matthew Stafford has been performing lately.
Ranking them is tricky, but I’d say the top teams in the NFC include Seattle, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Philadelphia—a case can be made for the Packers, too.
To be honest, it pains me to admit that the Eagles might be in the strongest position as they don’t have any divisional rivals to contend with. The dilemma is, can the Seahawks and Rams get past each other to reach the title game?
Just to clarify, both teams are incredibly talented and well-managed. We may not talk enough about how well the Seahawks are structured. However, to get to the next level, one must outshine the other, maybe even surpass Detroit or Philadelphia. It’s no easy feat.
Why do people overlook the seriousness of playing for the Cowboys?
Recently, the Arizona Cardinals celebrated a win at AT&T Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys. As someone who follows the Cowboys, I can say it wasn’t exactly thrilling.
I often wonder why others fail to see how poorly the Cowboys perform. It’s amusing to point and laugh at a bad team, but when the Cardinals beat them, they went on to make significant changes, as if that game indicated something deeper. You can debate the merits of Jacoby Brissett versus Kyler Murray, but it’s confusing how Arizona reacted after that Cowboys game only to falter against Seattle.
Think of facing the Cowboys like beating your younger sibling. Sure, enjoy the win, but don’t go to work acting like you’re someone special because of it. Just a friendly reminder.
The decision to switch Kyler Murray for Jacoby Brissett was curious, especially after Jonathan Gannon had previously stated that Murray would be the starter if he was healthy. Now, the Cardinals placed Murray on IR due to a foot sprain. So, while Brissett could be viewed as the chosen one because of his performance, it’s hard to know if Murray’s absence is the only reason for the shift.
Once those four games are up, the Cardinals will have to decide if they want to keep Brissett in for the remainder of the season or bring Murray back to audition for another year. With his hefty $19.5 million contract looming, the franchise will need to weigh whether that cost is justifiable or if a new quarterback is on their horizon in the draft.
Did the Ravens clinch the AFC North?
With Lamar Jackson back, the Ravens are looking strong contenders once more in the AFC North, especially now that the Chargers have fallen to 5-4 after their loss to the Steelers, just two games ahead of Baltimore.
Perhaps even more important than Jackson’s return is how the Ravens’ defense has bounced back after a rough start to the season. Sure, they faced a rookie quarterback in JJ McCarthy, but it’s still a marked improvement compared to their earlier struggles without Jackson.
Baltimore will need to maintain this momentum, but it feels like the season is quickly turning in their favor.
The general sentiment among fans seems to be that the Ravens are on a roll, while the Steelers are, well, not.
Honestly, I really hope the Ravens keep this up. They deserve to have Jackson showcasing his talent in the playoffs repeatedly. I was intrigued by the Steelers early on, but that interest has fizzled out as their weaknesses became clearer; it’s just not exciting anymore.
Go Ravens! Keep it going—I’m rooting for you!
