Comedy Central’s South Park took on OpenAI’s video maker Sora 2 in a controversial episode that features an explicit deepfake depicting a sexual encounter between President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, set against the backdrop of South Park Elementary School.
The episode, titled Sora: “I’m sorry.”, highlights creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker’s ongoing critique of political figures, particularly focusing on Trump and his administration.
Things kick off at South Park Elementary, where Butters is amused while watching a pornographic deepfake video crafted by Red as a form of revenge. In turn, Red shows Butters a video featuring an animated character, Totoro.
Meanwhile, Detective Harris confronts Red, mistakenly believing the video is genuine and declaring his intention to find the “shithole that lives in the woods.” As this unfolds, fake AI videos begin to proliferate throughout the neighborhood.
The plot then shifts to the White House, where Vice President Vance is seen attempting to persuade Trump to abort the child he is allegedly having with Satan, emphasizing the show’s fixation on satirizing Trump in explicit ways.
Later, in a White House hot tub, Vance continues his efforts to convince Trump about having an abortion. Just then, Satan joins the scene, and after some playful interaction, Vance and Trump end up in bed, engaged in graphic antics to the tune of Foreigner’s “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
Back in South Park, the artificial intelligence video situation worsens. Red keeps creating unsettling AI videos while the police try to make sense of it all. Detective Harris, completely oblivious to the fakery, grows increasingly confused as he views them. Eventually, Red and Butters confess to using AI technology for the videos.
The detective’s investigation leads him to a motel where Cartman is found restrained by Peter Thiel, his earlier tech accomplice. The police arrest Thiel and, upon examining his laptop, uncover surveillance footage secretly recorded throughout the White House, including an intimate encounter between Vance and Trump. This footage would later make its way onto television as the “Fox News Fake News Alert.”
The episode concludes with Trump convincing Satan that his encounter with Vance was fabricated. Once Trump finds out about Thiel’s arrest, Vance reassures him that their plan to prevent the Antichrist’s birth will succeed, culminating in a kiss between the two as the credits roll.
Season 28 of the long-running Comedy Central series continues with its fourth episode airing on November 26th.
