Housekeeper shares evidence that led her to believe Alex was responsible for the brutal murders: 'He did it'

Insights from Former Murdaugh Housekeeper on Alex Murdaugh’s Guilt

Blanca Turvieto-Simpson, who spent over a decade working for the Murdaugh family, revealed that one specific detail ultimately convinced her that Alex Murdaugh was responsible for the deaths of his wife, Maggie, and son, Paul.

In a recent interview, she opened up about the events surrounding the tragic murders that occurred in June 2021 at the family’s estate in South Carolina. Although she had long held a trust in Alex, a small inconsistency began to weigh on her conscience.

After the incident, Turvieto-Simpson noted that McGee’s Mercedes SUV was parked in an unusual location, which stood out to her since that wasn’t typical behavior for him. She also observed that Maggie’s pajamas and underwear were oddly lined up in the laundry room doorway, even mentioning that she “never wore underwear to bed.” This immediately raised suspicions in her mind.

In Alex’s bathroom, she discovered water on the floor, a towel, and khaki pants she recognized from the previous day. Plus, she noticed the shirt Alex had worn in a Snapchat video had inexplicably vanished. When Alex later asked if she remembered that particular shirt, it struck her as an odd question. She recalled ironing a different shirt that day, feeling like he was trying to alter his narrative.

“One thing was for sure,” Turvieto-Simpson reflected. “He was lying.”

Her realization intensified during Alex’s murder trial in 2023. She watched police body camera footage featuring a beach towel placed in a car that she had cleaned earlier that day, a moment that made her exclaim, “Oh my god, he did it.” In her memoir, she speculated that Alex may have washed himself near the kennel and then either changed clothes or returned home afterward.

She hypothesized that Alex might have grabbed a towel from the laundry room to dry off and taken a clean t-shirt. Meanwhile, Alex had told investigators that both Maggie and Paul were asleep in the main house when they were shot. He claimed he was at his parents’ home checking on his ailing father during the killings.

When he returned to Moselle later that night, he discovered Maggie and Paul’s bodies and subsequently dialed 911. Alex Murdaugh was eventually found guilty of their murders in March 2023 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
