Palm Beach Housing Prices Surge Thanks to New Mayor-Elect

In Palm Beach, property prices have seen a significant spike, largely due to the recent actions of Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani.

The former CEO of Marvel Entertainment has his home listed at nearly $25 million, as reported by Gimme Shelter. This marks a $6 million increase from the previous asking price of $18.95 million just seven months ago.

Located at 2 Sloan’s Curve, the oceanfront townhouse sits in a sophisticated gated community, known as the Residences at Sloan’s Curve, and was originally constructed in 1981 before undergoing a redesign with fresh interiors.

The home is being sold by Isaac “Ike” Perlmutter and his wife Laura. Perlmutter, a prominent figure at Marvel and a Mar-a-Lago member, is known for his strong support of President Trump. The couple has also contributed to Trump’s White House efforts through their foundation.

Listing broker Margit Brandt of Premier Estate Properties commented, “Palm Beach is experiencing an energy that hasn’t been around since last November. The pandemic seems to have sparked changes in the local economy and skyline.” She noted that the current relocation of affluent residents from New York to South Florida has become quite noticeable in recent months, particularly following the Democratic mayoral primary and the recent elections.

The Perlmutters acquired the luxurious residence just this past April for $10 million.

Perlmutter, a veteran of the 1967 Six-Day War, purchased Marvel in 1998 and became well-known for hits like “Spider-Man,” “Daredevil,” and “Iron Man.” He also plays a significant role in Trump’s 2024 campaign funding and has been an advisor to the Department of Veterans Affairs during Trump’s first term.

Initially, Perlmutter listed the Palm Beach estate for $21 million in December 2023, only eight months after buying it. The home spans 6,300 square feet and includes five bedrooms and five bathrooms, all with views of the ocean. It features a chef’s kitchen with impressive double-height ceilings, a formal living room equipped with skylights, and a bar area with custom-built elements.

Notably, a spiral staircase leads up to the main bedroom suite, which includes dressing space, two luxurious baths, and a private room that opens onto a terrace overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

For residents, the community offers a range of amenities, such as private beach access, several tennis courts, a gym, a yoga studio, and meeting rooms, all conveniently located just minutes from Worth Avenue.
