Critics slam Democrats for highlighting Jeffrey Epstein's negative remarks about Trump

Democrats Criticized for Epstein-Related Comments on Trump

The Democratic National Committee faced harsh criticism on Thursday for allegedly promoting remarks made by deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein about President Trump from several years ago.

A post from the party’s X account shared newly released emails where Epstein criticized Trump, specifically comments he sent to Hillary Clinton and Larry Summers in 2017, drawing significant backlash.

In one email, Epstein referred to Trump, saying, “I’ve met some very bad people. None as bad as Trump. He doesn’t have a single decent cell in his body. So, yes, it’s dangerous.”

However, many on social media quickly pointed out that the opinions of a man who took his own life rather than face sex trafficking charges are hardly reliable.

Republican national press secretary Kiersten Pels tweeted, “Breaking news: The worst person imaginable doesn’t like the president. It tells you everything you need to know.”

Commentator Ann Coulter remarked online, “Democrats are citing pedophiles as proof that Trump is a bad person.” Meanwhile, conservative lawyer Will Chamberlain expressed skepticism, asking, “Wait, is this a parody? Do Democrats believe Jeffrey Epstein’s assessment of Trump’s character?”

Stu Bruguiere from Blaze TV humorously added, “I hope that no negative comments about Trump will be unearthed from Ed Gein.” This was in reference to another notorious figure.

Scott Jennings of CNN commented, “For Democrats to work with notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein because of their mutual hatred of Trump… is a choice,” adding a grimace emoji to emphasize his point.

The DNC’s controversial tweet emerged alongside House Democrats highlighting just three emails where Epstein mentioned Trump, seemingly attempting to tarnish the image of Republican leaders.

In a related note, House Republicans disclosed a larger batch of 20,000 documents concerning Epstein, including exchanges involving former President Bill Clinton and journalist Michael Wolff.

On Truth Social, Trump accused Democrats of trying to revive the “Epstein hoax,” stating, “Despite the Justice Department releasing 50,000 pages of documents to escape its own bad policies and losses… Epstein was a Democrat with ties to other prominent figures on the left.”

Though Trump and Epstein were known to be friends in the 1990s and early 2000s, their relationship reportedly deteriorated over a dispute regarding a mansion in Palm Beach, Florida, which was demolished.

Epstein died in his Manhattan cell on August 10, 2019, while awaiting trial on federal sex crime charges.

As of now, the DNC tweet remains public, and the party has yet to comment amid the ongoing controversy.
