Patrick Beverley Arrested on Felony Assault Charges
Former NBA player Patrick Beverley was arrested in Texas on Friday, facing serious assault allegations, as reported by various sources. The ex-Milwaukee Bucks guard was taken into custody by the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, charged with felony assault on a family or household member, specifically for obstructing breathing or circulation.
According to reports, deputies responded to an assault call at a residence in Fort Bend County, describing the situation as a family violence incident. Beverly’s attorney, Leticia Quinones-Hollins, suggested that the incident may involve Beverley’s sister.
A statement from Beverley noted that he has no prior criminal record and emphasized his protective instincts regarding his underage sister. He expressed concern after finding her home alone with an 18-year-old male late at night. Beverley’s statement suggested that the events might not have unfolded as portrayed and indicated eagerness to clarify details in court.
Previously, Beverley played for the Bucks in the 2024 season and has since transitioned to other ventures, including a brief stint in the Israeli Basketball Premier League earlier this year before parting ways with the team in February.
In a tweet, Beverley advised people not to trust everything seen online, expressing hopes for a positive resolution to the situation.
