Despite their impressive record, the Eagles appear to be experiencing internal conflicts. Former player Seth Joyner has suggested that quarterback Jalen Hurts could be at the center of these issues.
On a postgame show over the weekend, Joyner expressed some confusion about Hurts, mentioning that he has had detailed discussions with Eagles insiders. He pointed out that this confusion isn’t just a locker room concern; it’s something that reflects the overall organization, which might not be visible to outsiders.
Interestingly, star wide receiver AJ Brown has also implied that the culture in Philadelphia feels somewhat superficial. Last week, during a gaming livestream, he described it as “just a show.”
Joyner elaborated that although Hurts targeted Brown during practices, he often lacks the patience to get him the ball during games. This sentiment was highlighted after Hurts attempted a pass to Jahan Dotson, leaving Brown open during a match against the Giants, which led to an interception that nearly cost the game.
Despite the tensions, the Eagles have managed to win their last four games and are currently tied for the top spot in the NFC with the Rams. However, challenges remain. Following their recent 16-9 victory over the Lions, where some questionable refereeing raised eyebrows, Hurts mentioned that he’s trying to ignore the surrounding chaos.
When questioned about the game strategy, Hurts deflected to offensive coordinator Kevin Pattullo, noting that Brown had a standout performance with a season-high 11 receptions. “I just went with the flow of the game and the calls,” he said, reflecting on last season’s Super Bowl win.
The Eagles are set to face off against the Cowboys in Week 12, a showdown crucial for the NFC East title.
