Kam Skatebo Joins WWE Action at Madison Square Garden
Kam Skatebo has always been one to embrace movement, even stepping into the ring alongside WWE stars.
The injured running back for the Giants got involved with members of the Judgment Day faction during John Cena’s last “Monday Night Raw” at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
In a live segment aired on Netflix, after losing a six-man tag team match to Cena, Sheamus, and Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio and his teammates, Finn Balor and JD McDonough, confronted comedian Andrew Schultz.
During a ringside interview, Dominik Mysterio made some jabs at Schultz and Skatebo, who were seated alongside Giants players, including rookie Abdul Carter. “The only good thing coming out of New York City is right in front of you,” he taunted. “The only champion New York has ever seen… Cam, does it count? How many years? He doesn’t know. He counts.”
Schultz attempted to reclaim the microphone, but Mysterio pushed him away, which prompted Skatebo and the rest of the Giants—dressed in Rangers jerseys—to get up from their seats. Skatebo, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since Week 8, hit Mysterio, and McDonough retaliated.
Skatebo pushed McDonough down, leading to a scuffle that drew in Roy Robertson-Harris, also decked out in a Yankees jersey, who aimed punches at Mysterio and McDonough.
This marked Skatebo’s first public appearance standing on his injured leg since he dislocated his ankle and broke his fibula during a game against the Eagles.
This incident is the second controversial moment for the Giants in recent times; team security had previously escorted Malik Nabors to a Travis Scott concert at MetLife Stadium while he was being treated for a concussion last season.
Things have also been rocky for Carter, who was benched during the Giants’ early defeat to the Packers on Sunday after reportedly missing a walkthrough due to oversleeping at the team facility. He denied the claims, stating he was simply “recovering.”
Interestingly, the Eagles also had representation at Madison Square Garden, with security chief “Big Dom” DiSandro and cornerback Cooper DeJean, who were met with boos from the crowd.
