Wyc Grousbeck’s New Beach Mansion in the Hamptons
With Wyc Grousbeck stepping down as the majority owner of the Boston Celtics after a staggering $6.1 billion sale, it seems he and his partner, Emilia Fazzalari, might be leaning into a new lifestyle in the Hamptons.
Word has it that they just constructed a sleek beach mansion there, costing an impressive $58 million.
This stunning property, located at 165 Surfside Drive in Bridgehampton, was completed in 2024. Initially listed for $79.99 million last year, it eventually dropped to a final asking price of $69.99 million.
The mansion was sold by well-known developer Joe Farrell, who also has a property at 155 Surfside that was previously listed for $125 million.
A real estate broker familiar with both families humorously remarked, “Just imagine the parties they could throw.”
Grousbeck originally brought the Celtics in 2002 for $360 million. He has mentioned that he will remain involved, as he still maintains shares in the team and is eager for more championship victories.
The home at 165 Surfside covers 1.24 acres, just 125 feet from the ocean. Designed by Will Minear Architects and constructed by Farrell Companies, this expansive 8,600-square-foot residence includes eight bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, alongside 4,400 square feet of rooftop entertainment space complete with a putting green.
The main level features a grand room and a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen. There’s an oceanfront bedroom suite that leads directly to the pool terrace, plus an additional main bedroom suite on the second floor that boasts a private lounge or office, two dressing rooms, and a luxurious spa-like bathroom.
Six more bedroom suites provide access to outdoor areas, and the exterior features an infinity-edge pool paired with a heated six-car garage.
Compass broker Richard Steinberg, who collaborated with Greg Gould and Dominic Cousins from Hedgerow in representing Grousbeck, chose not to comment, although the sale was reported publicly. Interestingly, Farrell recently bought a new waterfront property at 42 DeForest Road in Montauk for $17 million, setting a neighborhood record for Ditch Plains.
