Warnock’s Security Spending Raises Eyebrows
Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock from Georgia has spent a staggering amount on private security over a nine-month span in 2025, which feels a bit ironic given his historical support for stricter gun regulations.
From January to September of this year, Warnock’s campaign shelled out around $360,000 to an Atlanta-based security firm, Executive Protection Agency, LLC. The services reportedly offer both armed and unarmed protection, but details on what exactly was procured remain undisclosed. Interestingly, the company’s website notes that they utilize military expertise to safeguard “politicians.” Investigations reveal that Warnock’s campaign has spent more than $2.7 million on private security since December 2020.
Despite this substantial investment, Warnock has been a consistent advocate for gun control in Congress. He has co-sponsored measures to ban assault weapons, advocate for universal background checks, and has supported federal red flag laws. He is also in favor of tougher penalties for unauthorized firearm sellers and stricter licensing for sellers.
Judge Rules Against City Gun Ordinance
In the wake of the tragedy in Atlanta in 2021, when eight people lost their lives at several massage parlors, Warnock criticized Republican legislators in Georgia. He accused them of prioritizing election integrity measures that he argued made it harder for individuals to vote. On “Meet the Press,” he remarked about the potential for a shooter to inflict harm immediately after obtaining a gun, questioning the moral compass of Congress as they focused on voting restrictions rather than gun violence.
Warnock’s concerns about gun rights aren’t new; they trace back at least to 2013, and his critiques have often incorporated his former role as a pastor. He has used that platform to challenge gun rights advocates, particularly criticizing “Stand Your Ground” laws. He has also spoken out against legislation allowing concealed carry in places of worship, implying that Republicans are empowering dangerous individuals.
Gun Control Efforts Continue
Recently, Warnock has expressed doubts about arming teachers or school resource officers as a viable solution to mass shootings. He convened a gun control committee, including major city mayors and Gregory Jackson, a figure known for advocating gun control during his time in the Biden administration. Jackson has a history with various organizations aimed at tightening gun regulations.
At a recent gun control event, Warnock lamented the trauma inflicted on children learning to hide in the face of mass shootings, calling this a form of “America’s worst kind of exceptionalism.” His statements reflect a broader concern about the ongoing gun violence affecting struggling urban communities.
In addition to private security, the Warnock campaign has spent significant funds on limousine services, especially with Carey Limousine in Washington, D.C. Their marketing exudes a sense of “understated luxury.” According to filings with the Federal Election Commission, over $3,000 has been allocated to such auto services this year.
Attempts to reach Warnock’s office for comments on these spending habits went unanswered, leaving some questions lingering.
