Glenn Close discusses her collaboration with Kim Kardashian on ‘All’s Fair’

Glenn Close Surprised by Kim Kardashian’s Professionalism on Set

Glenn Close expressed surprise at Kim Kardashian’s dedication while filming “All’s Fair.” In a conversation with Variety, Close noted, “What surprised me was Kim’s serious determination.” This reflection came while discussing working alongside reality TV stars in the series.

Close highlighted Kardashian’s punctuality and preparedness, stating, “She always knew her lines. She was never late. She was always ready.” He acknowledged that while Kardashian didn’t act like a seasoned performer, she surrounded herself with people to learn from, which was quite wise.

At 78, Close also mentioned Kardashian’s humble demeanor during the making of the Hulu legal drama, which features co-stars like Naomi Watts and Sarah Paulson. “If she had a big ego, or what I call a ‘life is too short’ person, I would have been unhappy, but that’s not what she is,” he explained.

Close shared that he felt he had grown closer to Ryan Murphy, the creator of notable series like “American Horror Story,” where Kardashian also appeared recently. He admitted, “I had never been in any of Ryan’s movies or shows… I didn’t understand his tone for a while,” finding it somewhat challenging at first.

Interestingly, Kardashian’s mom, Kris Jenner, held a Fatal Attraction viewing party for the cast of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” to celebrate one of Close’s iconic roles. However, despite this on-camera camaraderie, “All’s Fair” faced a slew of negative critiques, with Rotten Tomatoes initially showing a striking 0% rating, now improved to 3%.

In a lighthearted moment, Kardashian commented on the show’s low ratings via social media, asking, “Have you watched the most critically acclaimed show of the year yet!?!?!?” while promoting the series streaming on Hulu and Disney+.

Close defended the show, which revolves around a high-powered Los Angeles divorce attorney, stating, “It was a rough start. I watched all nine episodes and I think it really built up to something.” He also acknowledged that not everyone is fond of the Kardashians, as they themselves would admit, noting, “They have an image.” Close mentioned that he felt the first three episodes were particularly weak.

Kardashian, who has aspirations of becoming a lawyer, humorously reacted to her recent bar exam results on social media, teasing followers about the show. Close seems to believe that despite the rocky start, the series has potential.
