Trump and Mayor-elect Mamdani to Meet at the White House
President Donald Trump has announced plans to meet with New York Mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani at the White House. This meeting is scheduled for the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st, as the President shared via Truth Social.
“The communist mayor of New York City, Zoran ‘Kwame’ Mamdani, has requested a meeting. We have agreed that this meeting will be held in the Oval Office on Friday, November 21st,” Trump posted on his platform. “Further details will be provided in due course.”
This unexpected meeting is noteworthy considering the long-standing tensions between Trump and Mamdani, who have frequently criticized each other publicly.
“If communist candidate Zoran Mamdani wins the New York City mayoral election, it is highly unlikely that I will donate the required minimum amount of federal funds to my beloved first home because, as a communist, there is zero chance that this once-great city will succeed or even survive!” Trump remarked just two days before the election.
Mamdani had expressed the importance of establishing a positive relationship with the White House. He mentioned last week that strengthening this connection is “critical to the city’s success.”
As the inauguration approaches, Mamdani indicated that reaching out to the White House will be an essential step.
