In a surprising incident, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, representing Jamaica, fell from the stage during the Miss Universe qualifying evening gown round held in Thailand.

While wearing a stunning orange dress, she was walking on a Bangkok stage when she unexpectedly stumbled off the edge of the dark runway. The fall seemed quite severe, and, well, it really caught everyone off guard. Video footage shared online captured the moment.

Audience members quickly jumped to their feet, concerned for Henry’s well-being.

Following the incident, additional footage showed the beauty queen being taken away on a stretcher.

She was promptly transported to Paolo Rangsit Hospital where, thankfully, her injuries have been reported as non-life-threatening by the Miss Universe Jamaica organization.

“Medical professionals are treating her and, while her injuries are not critical, they are conducting tests to ensure a complete recovery,” the organization stated.

They also expressed their gratitude for the support and asked everyone to keep her in their thoughts and prayers as she undergoes the necessary medical care.

In an update, Raul Rocha, who owns the Miss Universe pageant, informed fans that Henry was in good hands and miraculously didn’t suffer any broken bones in the fall.

“I was there with her family, and thankfully everything looks good. She will remain under observation overnight, and we will keep in touch with her family to provide support,” Rocha noted, wishing her a speedy recovery.

Earlier that week, contestants participated in various rounds, including the swimsuits and national costumes, as they prepared for the finals on Friday.

Notably, Henry, who is an ophthalmologist and founder of the Seamy Foundation—a charity for visually impaired individuals in Jamaica—has already faced some controversies leading up to the event.

Just days before the pageant, Miss Universe judge Omar Harhoush resigned, alleging that an “improvised jury” had already made decisions about which contestants would move forward, a claim that raised eyebrows.

Additionally, Miss Universe executive Nawat Isaragrisil was dismissed after a public altercation with Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, triggering a walkout from several contestants in solidarity.
