Jordan Chiles clarifies remarks about her perfect score following 'Dancing With The Stars'

Jordan Chiles Clarifies Recent Comments on Social Media

Jordan Chiles has released a statement discussing some remarks he made that sparked questions online regarding his participation in “Dancing with the Stars.” He wanted to clarify what a perfect score really means in gymnastics terms.

“If you’re curious, a perfect score is 40! I’ve received perfect scores in certain events, but not all at once,” Chiles noted. He explained, “So, when each judge gives a perfect 10, and there are 3-4 judges, that adds up to a perfect score. Similarly, if I scored a 10 for each event at the same time, it would also be perfect—sorry for any confusion! But I truly appreciate all your support. It feels surreal to be in the finale.”

Chiles first mentioned his perfect score during an interview with People magazine, expressing excitement over receiving a 30/30 score for his routine with Ezra Sosa on November 18, calling it his “first perfect score.” However, some fans were perplexed by his comment, considering he had already secured multiple perfect 10s during his time at UCLA. In fact, he has achieved the perfect score of 10 three times during college competitions: twice on the floor exercise and once on the uneven bars.

Interestingly, Chiles considers a perfect score to be 40 points rather than just 10, perhaps reflecting a gymnastic mindset. Looking ahead, Chiles’ UCLA team will compete against Stanford University and Romanian gymnast Ana Barbos on March 10, 2026.

Before that, though, Chiles is aiming for a successful performance in the upcoming “Dancing with the Stars” finals.
