Woman accused of murder near upscale Long Island yacht club

A man was found dead outside a popular yacht club on Long Island after being ambushed and stabbed, allegedly at the urging of his ex-girlfriend, according to prosecutors.

Casey Corso, a 33-year-old delivery driver, confronted Christopher Millwater, 52, along with his new girlfriend, Victor Panebianco, in a parking area near the Stony Brook Yacht Club on November 10. During the encounter, Panebianco reportedly told Millwater to end his relationship with Corso.

The couple allegedly blocked Millwater’s car, trapping him in a parking lot frequented by local boaters and club members.

Prosecutors revealed that Corso had previously attacked Millwater through social media, warning him and making strange accusations, including calling him a “grave robber.” The violent confrontation ensued when Corso disabled Millwater’s vehicle, while Panebianco pursued him on foot, armed with a knife.

It was stated that Corso questioned Millwater about his past relationship before launching a brutal knife attack, stabbing him multiple times in the chest and lungs.

Following the incident, the two allegedly fled to North Carolina, but Corso was apprehended upon returning to Long Island on Wednesday.

In court, during the trial, Corso appeared visibly shaken, wearing pajama pants and a hoodie, as details of the attack were recounted in front of Millwater’s family.

Panebianco was also arrested in North Carolina and is expected to return to New York to face charges. Both individuals are facing second-degree murder charges.

Millwater, who lived in Selden, was discovered severely injured around 3:40 a.m. and succumbed to his injuries at Stony Brook University Hospital.

Corso had previously expressed hostility toward Millwater in a social media post on July 26, hinting that anyone who knew Millwater should intervene before it was too late.

Additional screenshots of messages between Millwater and Panebianco were shared, which seemed to reflect their tumultuous interactions.

This tragic murder has unsettled the usually peaceful North Shore neighborhood, as one resident noted, “Things like that don’t usually happen here.”

Interestingly, Millwater had made some unsettling comments online shortly before his death, including a peculiar post about having time to rest only when he dies.
