Unauthorized Immigrants Need to Go Because 'Moral Clarity is Important'

Sen. Bernie Moreno Advocates for “Massive Deportations”

During a policy event in Washington, D.C., Sen. Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) expressed to Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlowe that “massive deportations” are crucial to the American populace.

Moreno, who noted that he is Hispanic and not originally from the U.S., shared his personal experience of becoming a citizen as soon as he had the chance. He remarked, “This isn’t about being anti-Hispanic. It’s about stating clearly: ‘You are not invited to this country. You are the one who invaded.’ It’s not a matter of forgiving them; it’s about leaving. If I trespassed into your home, you wouldn’t just provide for me. You would likely ask me to leave, but with a clear message—moral clarity matters. If you entered the country illegally, you must leave.”

These remarks followed reports that President Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had deported over 500,000 illegal immigrants since January. Recently, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that her administration had set a record by deporting over 527,000 illegal immigrants and anticipates nearly 600,000 deportations by the end of Trump’s second year in office.

The DHS is also focusing on the “worst of the worst” offenders across various cities. Moreno added during the discussion, “It’s not just about criminals; that’s the obvious part. It’s really crazy when you think about the opposite approach.” He continued, “If you’re in the country illegally and commit a crime, you have to leave. We need to manage immigration effectively. It’s unrealistic to admit 10 million people in just four years. Look at Europe—do we want to follow that path? It’s a terrible model.”
