Vice President J.D. Vance at Breitbart Event

Vice President J.D. Vance appeared at a recent policy event in Washington, D.C., alongside Matthew Boyle, who heads the Washington bureau for Breitbart News. During the event, Vance recognized Boyle’s contributions and noteworthy reputation within the political landscape.

While addressing the audience, Vance commended Boyle’s journalism and pointed out how many Americans, particularly those not aligned with progressive views, are often unfamiliar with the media environment. He remarked, “This person is the best-sourced journalist in Washington, D.C. Around a year ago, there was a substantial debate at the Washington Post about how to connect with the other half of America. They were questioning how to make their journalism more accessible to those who don’t share far-left politics.”

He continued, reflecting on a previous conversation he had: “I even emailed Jeff Bezos, suggesting that if they were serious about this issue, they should hire Matt Boyle to oversee their political reporting. That didn’t go over too well with others, and unfortunately, they didn’t act on my suggestion. So here I am, proud to be with Matt Boyle and Breitbart. Thank you all.”

Vance also expressed skepticism toward information not coming from Breitbart, particularly concerning shifts in the Republican Party and its relationship with its voter base. He said, “As you know, Matt, I only share articles written by Matthew J. Boyle at Breitbart News; everything else could just be fake news.”

Moreover, Vance reinforced his trust in Breitbart News, discussing immigration policies through the context of his Catholic beliefs. He appreciated how the news organization has influenced his understanding of vital issues, stating, “Matt, as you know, I’m a devoted Catholic, so I took note of those comments. I follow your work closely, especially on Breitbart. I think I’ve done well giving you some recognition. Thank you, everyone.”
