Kellen Moore Comments on Saints’ Tryout with Justin Tucker
Kellen Moore has come out in support of the Saints’ choice to include Justin Tucker, a kicker under scrutiny, in Monday’s tryout.
At 36 years old, Tucker faces accusations of sexual misconduct from 16 massage therapists across eight different spas in the Baltimore region, incidents occurring between 2012 and 2016. This was first reported by the *Baltimore Banner* earlier this year.
Following an investigation by the NFL, he received a 10-week suspension.
In May, the Ravens let Tucker go after 13 seasons, labeling the decision as purely related to football.
Now that Tucker’s suspension has concluded, the Saints have decided to give him a shot. Moore noted, “He’s been a really good kicker in this league for a long time and has had a lot of success,” when asked why the team was interested in him.
He continued, reflecting on Tucker’s leadership during his time with the Ravens. “He’s been one of the leaders for a long time on a very successful team. There have been some unfortunate events, yes. But we’re going to assess the football aspects and the other factors too.”
Importantly, Tucker has never faced criminal charges linked to these allegations, which he has consistently denied. He reiterated this in a previous statement to Outkick, saying, “I maintain that I did not behave inappropriately at any time before, during or after my professional chiropractic treatment session, and I have never been told that I was not welcome at any massage therapy provider.”
Additionally, reports indicate that the Saints are also bringing Cade York in for a tryout.
The current kicker for the team, Blake Gloop, has had a rough season, successfully making only 18 of 26 field goals, with just 54 from long distance.
As it stands, the Saints have a record of 2-9.
Tucker, a seven-time Pro Bowler during his career with the Ravens, also celebrated a Super Bowl victory with the team. However, he struggled in 2024, converting 22 of 30 field goal attempts.
