Graphic images emerge close to the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus

Recently, more violent imagery surfaced near the University of Wisconsin-Madison, reflecting a concerning trend observed at public school campuses in recent weeks, as noted by two students from the university.

One particularly striking image, captured by Aiden Wirth, a student and reporter for The Madison Federalist, displays the phrase, “The only good fascist is a dead fascist.” The editor-in-chief of the same newspaper, Ben Rotov, also documented parts of this display.

Among the more shocking visuals, a bicycle road sign depicted a brutal scene involving a pig and the same aggressive slogan. Another image featured a figure in a Ku Klux Klan hood, blood streaming from the head, with a handgun directed at it. The commentary accompanying this image read, “Speak their language.”

Another image reiterated this disturbing theme, showing a bleeding pig and echoing the “Speak their language” message.

In a series of disturbing depictions, one image showed an ICE officer with a bullet wound to the head, alongside phrases like “The only good fascist is a dead fascist” and comments suggesting that voting wouldn’t eliminate fascism.

Campus police have confirmed investigations into these troubling images. A mailbox on campus was also noted to display an image of the ICE officer shot in the head, coinciding with the timeline of this incident.

John Lucas, a spokesperson for the university, stated on November 13 that the University of Wisconsin-Madison unequivocally condemns violence in all forms, reiterating their stance following subsequent events. He encouraged students to reach out to the Office of Student Affairs for support or to report any concerning materials to the campus police for removal.

As this situation unfolds, the university appears to be taking a clear position against such violent imagery, an issue that many might find troubling and reflective of larger societal tensions.
