Navarro Agrees with Duffy on Travel Civility

Ana Navarro, co-host of “The View” and known for her criticisms of the Trump administration, expressed her support on Tuesday for Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s appeal for greater civility among travelers. Duffy suggested that people should dress better when traveling.

“I’m actually going to agree with someone from the Trump Cabinet, so, uh, take my temperature,” Navarro said during the show, catching her co-hosts off guard. One even asked, “Really?”

Navarro, who frequently travels—about four times a week—mentioned her frustrations with the attire of her fellow passengers. “I get really tired of looking at people’s bare skin, especially in Miami. On nice days, it seems like many people are wearing skin-tight leggings that can appear almost naked. It’s just not appropriate.”

Duffy shared his thoughts at a news conference on Monday, urging passengers to “dress a little nicer” than pajamas or slippers while at the airport, suggesting that better attire might lead to better behavior.

He also advised passengers to lend a helping hand to those having difficulty storing their luggage, framing it as basic courtesy. According to a press release, the campaign aims to promote civility in response to rising disarray among passengers, a significant issue that has afflicted countless travelers recently.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported an increase of more than 400% in incidents of unruly behavior on flights since 2019. They noted a concerning trend with thousands of such incidents leading to heightened enforcement and fines.

Navarro supported Duffy’s sentiments, reinforcing that “manners don’t stop at the door.” By the end of the discussion, she added her own boundaries, indicating that T-shirts featuring nudity or swear words should be avoided on planes.

Co-host Sarah Haynes echoed her sentiments, stating that civility is indeed necessary. Conversely, other co-hosts, such as Sunny Hostin, expressed skepticism towards Duffy’s message, stating a fondness for former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg.
