Victor Davis Hanson Imitates Jasmine Crockett While Playfully Mocking Her Mistake

Discussion on Epstein Redactions

Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution, humorously imitated Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett during a recent episode of “Victor Davis Hanson’s Own Words.” His commentary was directed at her claims regarding the redaction of documents related to the late Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender.

House Democrats unveiled a collection of emails from Epstein, including one that indicated President Donald Trump was aware of Epstein’s actions and had interacted with Virginia Giuffre, a victim whose name was redacted. On CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Crockett implied that Republicans were responsible for redacting Giuffre’s name, but host Pamela Brown highlighted that it was the Democrats who had done so. Hanson pointed this out during the conversation.

Hanson remarked, “Did you ever see a CNN host say this? When she mentioned the victim whose name is blacked out, the CNN representative clarified that it was actually the Democrats who had redacted those names and stored them away.”

He added, with a hint of sarcasm, “That’s right, that’s what I said! They’re fact-checking her right now. Soon enough, she won’t be on television anymore.”

During the discussion, an email was shown that featured Giuffre, who had stated in a deposition from 2016 that Trump denied any sexual involvement with victims during his association with Epstein. Brown asked Crockett for her interpretation of the email and whether she believed the redacted name was indeed Giuffre.

Crockett responded cautiously, “Well, I don’t really know. It’s redacted, so I’m not inclined to just accept the Republican narrative about who is being obscured. I also don’t understand why we need to redact the names of deceased individuals at this point.”

Brown interjected, clarifying that it was the Democrats responsible for the redaction, to which Crockett replied, “No, no, no, I know.”

On July 29, Trump commented to reporters that he had ended his relationship with Epstein after the latter allegedly took advantage of a female employee at Mar-a-Lago, a claim that Giuffre is thought to be connected to.

Several alleged victims also told NBC News on September 3 that they had never witnessed or heard of any misconduct from Trump during his time with Epstein.

Additionally, Crockett inaccurately claimed that EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin had received political donations from a deceased sex offender, while he had actually received funds from Epstein. During a later appearance on CNN’s “The Source,” Crockett insisted she wasn’t trying to “mislead people.”
