Kendrick Perkins Praises Shedeur Sanders Ahead of Start
NBA champion Kendrick Perkins expressed his admiration for Shedeur Sanders, the Cleveland Browns’ rookie quarterback, as he gears up for his second NFL start. On a recent podcast, Perkins, who works as an analyst for ESPN and is known for his outspoken nature, drew a comparison between Sanders and former President Barack Obama.
“Are you ready for this? Shedeur Sanders is the most powerful black man since 2009. You know, that’s the year Obama was elected,” Perkins remarked. He added, “When Shedeur Sanders is on the field, it’s like that moment where the community unites, dropping all their differences to support him.”
Perkins went on to explain, “I’ve never encountered anyone who had something negative to say about him. He embodies both arrogance and humility, which makes him relatable.” He called Sanders the reigning figure in sports, saying, “Even when he’s not playing, people are talking about him.”
Sanders, who was drafted in the fifth round earlier this year, has only played in two games this season. His debut didn’t go as planned against the Baltimore Ravens, but he rebounded impressively when facing the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Cleveland Browns have now cleared him to play in Week 13 against the San Francisco 49ers, marking an important step in his young career.
