California Candidate Swalwell Confronted by Singer Tish Hyman
Eric Swalwell, a gubernatorial candidate in California, faced strong criticism from Grammy-nominated artist Tish Hyman. This confrontation occurred at a campaign event in Orange County over the weekend, following Swalwell’s recent presence at Gold’s Gym in Los Angeles, where he encountered a transgender woman during a locker room dispute.
During the event, Hyman pressed Swalwell on whether, as governor, he would accept “men in women’s rooms.” Her questioning was direct, demanding clarity on his stance regarding transgender women in women’s sports and spaces.
Swalwell responded vaguely, expressing that he didn’t want any harassment towards women, yet he didn’t clearly reject the presence of transgender women with male anatomy in women’s areas. This ambiguous response seemed to frustrate Hyman.
Standing up in front of the crowd, she passionately addressed attendees, declaring a need to prioritize women’s safety. “They are not women; they are the ones raping women. We need to stand on the side of women,” Hyman asserted, urging Swalwell to take decisive action if he wished to be governor.
Hyman recounted an incident where she was allegedly expelled from Gold’s Gym in Beverly Hills following a documented confrontation involving Alexis Black, a convicted domestic abuser. She has accused Black of harassing her in the women’s locker room, claiming he exposed himself and made her uncomfortable.
In denying Hyman’s allegations, Black asserted that the situation never escalated beyond the recorded altercation. A viral video surfaced recently showing Hyman confronting Black, insisting he should stay out of the women’s locker room.
“Now he knows how to be a man, right? Stay out of the women’s locker room! We don’t want that,” Hyman declared in the video, calling for Black’s gym membership to be revoked due to his alleged behavior.
