Packers' Micah Parsons admits to losing in Scattergories

Packers vs. Lions to Air on FOX Thanksgiving Day at 1 PM ET

In anticipation of the NFL Thanksgiving Day game, FOX Sports’ Tom Rinaldi appeared on “Fox & Friends” to discuss the upcoming bout between the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions, along with Saturday’s “Big Noon Kickoff” featuring Ohio State going up against Michigan.

Micah Parsons, a standout player for the Green Bay Packers, displays his competitive nature not just in football but in life. He shared that he’s an avid board game enthusiast and, interestingly, has experienced some tension with his girlfriend over game losses.

“There was a time when my daughter and I had a game night, and I lost,” Parsons recounted. “I didn’t speak to her for about two days. I just really hate losing.”

He elaborated on his mindset: “I despise the feeling of being beaten or held back. Of course, everyone gets tired; that’s just part of it. We’ve all faced physical challenges. But I’ve aimed to adopt a mentality where I push through, even when exhausted or injured. It’s tough, but once you enter that mindset, you notice so much potential for growth.”

Parsons mentioned he was engaged in a game of Scattergories during this reflection. “I mean, I love it, but I can’t help but feel a bit like a prima donna when we play,” he joked. “These days, some family members are hesitant to play unless they’re on my team because, well, losing to me can mean a serious social exile!”

He also expressed his fondness for other games, like Codenames and Connect Four, proudly stating, “I haven’t lost at Connect Four in what feels like five years.”

Looking ahead to the game against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day, Parsons hopes to rally the Packers’ spirits. The kickoff is set for 1 PM ET and will be broadcast on FOX. Last season, he made an impressive mark with 10 sacks and 30 tackles.
