Colin Gosselin Alleges Abuse by Mother Kate

Colin Gosselin has publicly accused his mother, Kate, of serious abuse shortly after his father, John, married again.

In a detailed statement shared on Instagram Stories, Colin recounted his painful experiences, stating, “I remember when my mother would drop my brothers off at school every day, then put her hands on me and drill hurtful words into my head.”

He also remarked on the façade he had to maintain, saying, “I remember having to pretend that everything was fine after my brothers got home.”

At 21, Colin highlighted the widespread issues of “child abuse” and “child exploitation” in the U.S. He expressed his determination, saying, “I will use my voice and my experience to address this epidemic. Keep coming for me, I will keep advocating.”

Reflecting on public misconceptions from their family’s reality show, *John & Kate Plus 8*, Colin stated, “I often think about how so many people are still upset that the show they’ve been watching for years told a false story while hiding so many dark secrets.”

He addressed the negativity directed at him online, saying, “A lot of people have started saying really awful things about me on social media. I have one message for them: No matter how hurtful you say things to me, I will never stop defending scapegoated and abused children. Never, ever.”

Colin recently attended his father’s wedding, where he was joined only by his sister, Hannah. Meanwhile, the other siblings remain in close contact with their mother.

Background on Family Dynamics

The Gosselin family, featured on TLC from 2007 to 2009, included twins Maddie and Carla and sextuplets Colin, Alexis, Hannah, Arden, Leah, and Joel. After divorcing in 2009, John and Kate’s lives continued to unfold on the spin-off *Kate Plus 8* until 2017.

Last year, Colin accused Kate of abusive actions, alleging that she restrained him and locked him in a basement. Kate has denied these claims, and her lawyer stated they believe she did not intend to harm Colin. He noted, “There are always two sides to any story, and people have different memories and perspectives regarding past events.”

Colin is currently living with John, and the family dynamic remains fragmented, with some siblings choosing to stay closer to Kate.
