The recent winner of the World’s Strongest Woman contest has opened up about the challenges of managing several romantic partners. This comes after she was stripped of her title due to revelations about her being transgender.
Jamie Booker, 28, claimed the championship title at the World Strongwoman Championships in Arlington, Texas, last week.
However, her title was revoked on Tuesday after another competitor shared explicit photos and videos revealing her history as a transgender former porn star.
In a July podcast appearance, Booker hinted that she might be juggling relationships with three partners when asked about balancing her love life with the demands of Strongwoman training.
“How do you balance your partner, your full-time job, and your training? Google Calendar. Even monogamous couples can benefit from scheduling time with other people,” she said during the discussion.
She added, “When you first mention this to people, they often react with, ‘That’s so formal,’ but without some planning, you can end up weeks without a proper date with one of your partners.”
“I hear people saying, ‘Oh, we haven’t dated in a month,’ and that seems outrageous to me,” Booker continued.
Booker shared her approach to managing her relationships: “I take each partner on a date once a week. At first, it feels a bit forced and formal, but once you start organizing it—like, ‘Sunday is for Amber, Wednesday for Danny, Friday for Faye’—it becomes a lot easier. Plus, it gives me more time to focus on my training.”
She mentioned that spending time with her partners is “non-negotiable.” If something else comes up, she’ll prioritize her partner, saying, “Oh, no, it’s Amber’s night.” That’s a promise she keeps.
Following the decision to strip Booker of her title, Andrea Thompson, 43, from Britain, was elevated to first place.
Thompson noted that none of her fellow competitors had any suspicions about Booker being transgender until explicit materials were sent around 3 a.m. on Monday.
“They were very explicit videos and photos from an adult entertainment site, which certainly raised questions about her gender,” Thompson remarked, adding that the event organizers were equally blindsided by what was revealed.
“When they discovered the situation, they were surprised too. They contacted me early and expressed shock, saying they needed to investigate,” she explained.
A surprising announcement from the official Strong Woman Games on Tuesday clarified that only biologically female athletes are eligible to compete.
The statement indicated, “It appears an athlete who is biologically male and currently identifies as female has been competing in the women’s open division.”
“We’ve attempted to reach the athletes involved but have not received a response. It’s clear: athletes can only compete in the category designated by their biological sex at birth,” the statement concluded.
Booker has not yet responded to requests for comment.
