NFL scores: Cowboys' George Pickens helps secure victory against Chiefs

Cowboys Triumph Over Chiefs with Pickens’ Stellar Performance

George Pickens definitely came through for the Dallas Cowboys when they really needed it on Thursday. After a rather quiet first half playing against the Kansas City Chiefs, he really turned things around in the second half. He scored a vital two-point conversion and tallied 88 yards from six catches on 13 targets. Fans were particularly surprised by a remarkable play he made in the fourth quarter.

During a crucial moment on 3rd-and-8 at the Chiefs’ 45-yard line, quarterback Dak Prescott found Pickens making a move just short of the first down. In a flash, he spun around, spotted an opening, and darted down the sideline. He evaded a tackle and nearly leaped over Chiefs defensive back Trent McDuffie.

Jim Nantz, the CBS broadcaster, couldn’t help but express his shock, exclaiming, “Oh my god.”

This impressive play helped the Cowboys maintain their momentum and eventually score a much-needed touchdown, allowing them to take the lead after the Chiefs had scored. The Cowboys ultimately secured a 31-28 victory, keeping their playoff hopes alive.

Prescott commented on the significance of this win, stating, “In addition to where we put ourselves before these games, we’re in the position we are now having to get these wins against two elite teams. I mean, two teams that were in the Super Bowl last year. We just beat them both in two great games.” It’s clear that he thinks this victory means a lot for the team.

The Cowboys improved their record to 6-5-1 with this decisive win, while the Chiefs, now at 6-6, face an uphill battle for a spot in the playoffs.
