Jenny McCarthy Reflects on Health Challenges and Gratitude

This year, Jenny McCarthy finds herself thankful for her health, a stark contrast to the struggles she faced in 2025.

Throughout the past year, the actress has navigated various health issues, including a missing tooth, a series of surgeries, and a troubling “growth” on her eye.

“My tooth fell out and my implant fell out,” she recounted, sharing the starting point of her health battles. “Eventually, they had to dig into my jawbone and discovered I had a deep bone infection. I was on antibiotics for a year and could only eat soft foods.”

McCarthy proceeded to detail, “I’ve had nine surgeries this year. First, I had an infection in my mouth, then another infection, and then a tumor appeared in my eye.” She noted that the complications began with her ceramic dental implants.

“For now, I can bite again,” she expressed. “But just when I thought I was back on track, the pain returned. My jaw was swollen, and I was in a lot of discomfort. At the same time, I was dealing with a tumor in my eye.”

Her tone took a light-hearted turn when she quipped, “I think people should feel a little sorry for me!”

The “Masked Singer” judge also shared in an interview that she was eagerly looking forward to enjoying solid food during Thanksgiving: “I think we’ve weathered the storm. I’m ready to dig in!”

Although McCarthy planned to celebrate with her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, she noted that their busy schedules had made it challenging to coordinate. “I was filming ‘The Masked Singer’ in Los Angeles while he was in Canada working on ‘Boston Blue.’ It’s been tricky, but honestly, that makes Thanksgiving and Christmas even more special this year,” she said, picturing a cozy day at home in Chicago, cooking and enjoying their time together.

Interestingly, the couple has been married for 11 years. Wahlberg previously mentioned the importance of therapy for maintaining their bond, especially since both have experienced divorce before. They committed to working through challenges together. “Every new relationship, no matter what, brings unique hurdles,” he noted.

Wahlberg elaborated that while people often shine in social situations, romantic relationships can unveil vulnerabilities that were previously unnoticed: “It’s the most vulnerable relationship you’re going to be in.” This shared understanding adds depth to their partnership.

McCarthy and Wahlberg began dating in July 2013 and tied the knot the following year. Wahlberg has two sons from a previous marriage, and McCarthy has a son, Evan, from her own previous relationship.
