Popular HGTV star Hilary Farr has addressed concerns about her health following a viral AI-generated post that created alarm among her fans.
The 74-year-old host of Love It or List It reassured everyone that she is “alive” after a forged image of her wearing an oxygen mask circulated online, accompanied by a disturbing claim that doctors had informed her about the severity of a supposed “cancer” diagnosis.
“Tadaaaa. I’m alive, very, very, very well, I’m happy to say that,” she playfully stated in a light-hearted video shared on Wednesday, where she appeared before fabricated news items.
“So look at this, really?” Farr remarked, labeling the image as “crazy AI stuff.”
“It’s so awful that I hope none of you take it seriously and realize it’s an unspeakable fake,” she urged her over 318,000 followers.
The false image portrayed her with an oxygen mask and included a claim that she wouldn’t “go through with it.”
“Well, I came here to prove it. So, just checking in. I’m okay. I hope you’re okay too,” she added.
Fans expressed their relief in the comments, thanking her for clarifying the AI deception and complimenting her health and appearance.
“Thank God you are healthy and thank you for setting the record straight!” one fan commented, wishing her and her family well for the holidays.

Farr has candidly discussed her health issues in the past. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and had been secretly managing the illness.
Reports indicate that she has been in remission since 2022.
