Shedule Sanders to Start Again for the Browns
Shedule Sanders will remain the starting quarterback for the Browns for another week. Head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed that Sanders would lead the team in Week 14, following Cleveland’s recent 26-8 defeat against the 49ers.
In his first game as a starter in front of the Browns’ home crowd, Sanders completed 16 of 28 passes for 149 yards and even threw a touchdown.
Despite the loss, there was a glimmer of hope; Sanders had previously guided the Browns to victory in his initial NFL start in Las Vegas. It certainly has been a wild ride for him so far. “We’ll have to see,” Stefanski remarked, adding that the team is putting in effort with all its players. “I know there are plays he wants back, and we’ll review them to make adjustments.”
During the game against the 49ers, Sanders threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Harold Fannin Jr. in the second quarter, helping to give the Browns an early lead of 8-7, which Stefanski noted was a well-executed play.
However, questions about his future as the starter lingered. Stefanski didn’t directly address whether Sanders would continue as the number one quarterback, leaving that somewhat ambiguous.
Reports suggest the Browns are willing to keep Sanders in the lineup for an extended evaluation of his skills. “We didn’t play well, so obviously we lost,” Sanders acknowledged afterward. “There are parts of the game I definitely want to revisit, and moving forward, I know I need to prepare fully for whatever comes next.”
Currently sitting at 3-9 for the season, Cleveland is keen to explore the potential of Sanders. The Browns are set to face the Titans next week, a matchup against a team struggling with a 1-11 record.
