Browns fans criticize Dillon Gabriel's fiancée Zo Caswell for her remark about the team's loss

Cleveland Browns Fans React to Rookie Quarterback’s Fiancée

Cleveland Browns supporters are expressing their frustration after rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel’s fiancée, Zo Caswell, made a remark that seemed to criticize the team following a recent loss on Sunday.

In a TikTok video, Caswell shared a caption that read, “The Browns lost something new,” while teasing that she would be backing Shedeur Sanders as he played against the San Francisco 49ers. This drew immediate backlash from social media users, but Caswell remained unapologetic.

One TikTok user quipped, “I don’t remember the caption when you were QB1,” complete with a rolling eyes emoji. Another user chimed in, saying, “I love you and your content, but I’m really disappointed in this caption. We need to support this team, whether he’s on it or not.”

After some controversy, Caswell clarified, “To everyone complaining about the caption, I’m clearly rooting for the Browns. It’s obviously a joke. If you don’t laugh, you cry.”

This drama unfolded as Sanders made his first career start after Gabriel, who was picked by the Browns ahead of Sanders in the 2025 NFL Draft, was sidelined due to concussion protocols. Coach Kevin Stefanski decided to continue with Sanders as the starter moving forward, sparking further discussions among fans about the situation.

Fans also speculated whether Caswell’s comments stemmed from frustration at having her fiancée not start, seeking to understand her perspective. Meanwhile, Sanders faced his first loss as a starter, but Stefanski confirmed that he would retain his position against the Tennessee Titans.

Of note, the dynamics between the two rookie quarterbacks have drawn attention since Gabriel’s remarks about competition during training camp. He had said, “There are entertainers and there are competitors,” which some misinterpreted as a slight against Sanders. Gabriel later clarified he was referring to media and not his teammate.

Gabriel has started six games for the Browns this season, ending with a record of 1-5 and accumulating 937 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. In contrast, Sanders became the first Browns rookie quarterback since 1999 to win his debut start, although recent losses have raised eyebrows about the team’s direction.
