Tragic Dog Attack Claims Life of 23-Year-Old Student

A family is grieving after their 23-year-old daughter, Madison Riley-Hull, was fatally attacked by three pit bulls she was pet-sitting in Tyler, Texas. The incident occurred on November 21, when officers arrived at the scene to find Madison lying in the backyard. Reports indicate that the dogs seemed aggressive toward the responding deputies.

One deputy shot and killed one of the dogs during the chaotic scene. The remaining two dogs fled but were later found and ordered to be euthanized by a magistrate. Madison, unfortunately, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Authorities are now looking into potential criminal charges against the dogs’ owners. Sergeant Smith from the Smith County Sheriff’s Office addressed the situation, noting that the owners were not home when the attack happened. There remain unanswered questions regarding Madison’s familiarity with the dogs—whether she had cared for them before or had a close relationship with them.

Madison was a student at the University of Texas at Tyler, and those who knew her are struggling with her sudden loss. A neighbor called the deputies, prompting their response to the home. Sergeant Christian reflected on the tragedy, expressing how bright her future was and lamenting this awful turn of events. He extended thoughts and prayers to both Madison’s family and those who witnessed the horrific incident.

In an emotional tribute, Madison’s mother, Jennifer Hubbell, shared on GoFundMe about her daughter, describing her as full of love, kindness, and a free spirit that brought joy to those around her. “She truly loved life,” Hubbell stated.
