Public Square Launches Fundraising Platform to Compete with WinRed

Public Square, a conservative online marketplace, is set to unveil a new fundraising platform designed to challenge WinRed’s dominance in Republican political fundraising. This decision, reported exclusively by Breitbart News, aims to foster innovation among campaigns, committees, and nonprofits aligned with conservative values.

On Thursday, the tech company will introduce PSQ Impact, which leverages its established infrastructure and an impressive board of directors, including Donald Trump Jr. The platform is being established as the Republican alternative to the Democratic fundraising giant, Act Blue. Under the leadership of Alex Brusewitz, a political strategist with ties to President Trump, PSQ Impact wants to secure a significant market presence by prioritizing transparency and reducing costs through direct donations, all while maintaining independence from Big Tech.

Brusewitz is known for developing key strategies for America First political figures and has been pivotal in implementing methods that contributed to Trump’s success in 2024.

“We’re a technology firm stepping into the conservative political scene because we resonate with the party’s ideals. We’re not just politicians turning tech-savvy,” said Michael Seifert, CEO of Public Square, during a recent phone call with Breitbart News. He emphasized the company’s unique offering, stating that its technology ensures enhanced security, stability, and scalability that hasn’t been seen in this sector before.

Public Square emerged in 2021 as a response to widespread dissatisfaction with corporate woke policies. Today, it boasts over 75,000 vendors and more than 1.6 million members on its platform, as noted in a recent financial report.

“As a financial institution, we’re committed to providing financial freedom to millions of patriotic Americans,” Seifert stated. “We believe our technology, paired with our strong alignment with conservative values, is key to shaking up this industry and delivering great value to our users.”

WinRed, heavily supported by the Republican National Committee (RNC), remains the leading platform for conservative fundraising, acting as a conduit for donations to federal candidates and committees. According to their FAQ page, it has adopted an improved model inspired by ActBlue’s successful strategies.

Leadership at Public Square clarified that the launch of PSQ Impact doesn’t signify internal battles within the Republican Party, but rather reflects a belief in the benefits of competition.

“Monopolies often lead to stagnation, and introducing competition breeds innovation,” Seifert added, emphasizing their intent to focus on enhancing their product and customer service. “Our aim is to capture market share, but we approach that with humility, proving our worth through the quality of our offerings.”

Seifert pointed out the importance of having multiple fundraising platforms to ensure security for conservatives, mitigating risks associated with dependency on a single platform like WinRed. By establishing its own payment processing tools, PSQ Impact aims to sidestep these potential pitfalls.

He also referenced incidents where WinRed experienced service disruptions, underlining the urgency for conservative campaigns to diversify their options. “Accessibility to multiple solutions is vital for our movement,” he said.

“We are free-market capitalists who value competition and humility. Ultimately, may the best product prevail,” he concluded.

The key differentiators for PSQ Impact include lower processing fees, simplified procedures, and the integration of advanced technology, including AI, to optimize campaign strategies and donor engagement.

In terms of pricing, Impact will charge a flat fee of 3.5% for most donations, dropping to 3.2% for those over $500. In contrast, WinRed typically charges higher fees for donations under $500.

“Our mission is to lower costs while maximizing donation impact. We seek to save the Republican Party, its supporters, and related campaigns millions by slashing fees,” Seifert explained, noting how certain tipping features used by WinRed can divert funds from actual campaigns.

Additionally, PSQ Impact operates differently than traditional Political Action Committees (PACs), offering what they refer to as “alliance fundraising.” This model eliminates intermediary fundraising processors, enabling donors to maintain direct relationships with the causes they support. This could enhance transparency and reduce confusion for donors.

Seifert also highlighted how AI-driven reporting will furnish campaigns with detailed fundraising analytics that can boost performance based on donor behavior patterns.

The platform also plans to accept cryptocurrencies, positioning itself as a pioneer in this domain within conservative fundraising. “We’re embracing innovation in a way that connects conservative politics with technological advancement,” he noted.

To ensure top-notch service, the platform’s customer support is based in the U.S., fostering direct interaction between donors and representatives. Seifert stressed that all support staff share conservative values, enhancing trust in the donation process.

He acknowledged the valuable insights contributed by board members experienced in politics and technology, including notable figures like Nick Ayers and Caitlin Long, who bring expertise to the initiative.

In closing, while representatives from WinRed were approached for comment, there was no immediate response available.
