Rowan Henchy Mocks Father’s Career Advice

Rowan Henchy, daughter of actress Brooke Shields, recently poked fun at her father’s ambitious suggestions for job hunting in a TikTok skit. The Wake Forest University graduate showcased her comedic take on what her dad thinks is a good approach to impressing potential employers.

The video starts with the caption, “He really thinks I can walk right up to the top of Disney Channel and tell them I want to make history…” In the clip, Rowan, donning a black trench coat and glasses, pretends to stand in a kitchen with a clipboard. She feigns a handshake with an imaginary staff member before confidently stating, “Hello, Rowan Henchy…I just graduated from Wake Forest University. I’d like to speak to your boss.” This confident facade quickly turns into laughter.

Trying again, she asserts with more authority, “I don’t think you understand. I’d like to speak to your boss.” Her mimicking of someone interrupting a meeting continues, humorously announcing, “Sorry for the sudden interruption. It looks like you’re all in a meeting. Now, I’d like to start handing out resumes.” Rowan pretends to distribute papers as she adds, “Yes, this might pique your interest…um…go ahead and take a look.”

Rowan escalates her mockery with what could be described as a motivational pitch on how her father should introduce her. “I know what you’re all thinking. Who is this little girl who walks into our company with a resume? I’ve seen her a million times before…and you haven’t seen her yet.”

She continues, emphasizing her communication and journalism degree. “I’m bringing a new perspective to this company, a new dimension of creativity. That’s exactly what we need for you all to collectively drive together… Yeah, look.” In this skit, she adopts an exaggeratedly confident persona, asserting she would never miss an opportunity.

“I could walk out of this building, but I’m not going to do that because this is an opportunity that may never cross your path again. You’re right. I’m what this company needs, and I’m not leaving until I sign my acceptance letter.”

Ending her performance with flair, she dramatically states, “That’s right… I’m willing to do this. All of that — you have me, you have all of me. What do you say? Let’s make this official.”

Rowan, the eldest daughter of Shields and director Chris Henchy, provides a snapshot of her life after graduation. They’re a family of four, with Rowan born in 2003 and her younger sister Greer arriving in 2006.
