It’s been nearly a month since the mid-season finale of 9-1-1, and fans are eagerly awaiting the next chapter with the 118 crew.
In case you missed the last episode, Season 9, Episode 6, titled “Family History,” ended on a major cliffhanger. Hen (Aisha Hinds) unexpectedly collapses and has to undergo a CT scan alone after experiencing some troubling symptoms. This raises so many questions: Could her health issues be linked to her time in space? Why is she keeping it under wraps? More importantly, is she going to be okay? We’re all anxiously waiting for answers. So, when is 9-1-1 Season 9, Episode 8 coming back?
It’s a bit confusing—9-1-1 is not airing tonight, which is Thursday, December 4th? So, is Season 9 done? How many episodes are there in total? I wasn’t sure either, but I found some answers!

Not quite! The good news is that 9-1-1 is just on a short break. Unfortunately, new episodes won’t return until 2026.
When Will 9-1-1 Be Back With New Episodes?
So, when can we expect 9-1-1 to return? The last mid-season episode aired on November 13th, so no new episodes will run until then. But don’t worry too much—9-1-1 is set to come back with fresh content starting Thursday, January 8th, 2026, just ahead of the mid-season spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville.

When it returns, 9-1-1 Season 9, Episode 7 will kick off on January 8, 2026, at the usual time. So mark your calendars for 8 PM ET on ABC!
