Bitcoin Predictions for 2026

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has made a bold prediction, claiming that Bitcoin could hit $180,000 by the end of 2026. This announcement came during a panel discussion at Binance Blockchain Week. While he didn’t elaborate on the specifics of his forecast, he did emphasize that further regulatory developments in the United States could influence the overall cryptocurrency landscape. He highlighted an existing bill—the CLARITY Act—that, if passed, might change the game for the crypto market.

Garlinghouse remarked, “We’ve been advocating for regulatory clarity on cryptocurrencies through what is known as the CLARITY Act.” He expressed skepticism that this legislation would be enacted this year, suggesting instead that it might emerge in the first half of next year, potentially benefiting the industry.

Interestingly, predictions from other industry leaders differ slightly. For instance, Lily Liu from the Solana Foundation anticipates Bitcoin could surpass $100,000 by next year, while Binance’s CEO Richard Teng suggests the price will simply be “higher” than its current level.

Garlinghouse’s forecast contrasts with more conservative estimates from others in the sector, particularly as previous forecasts like those from Tom Lee of Bitmine Immersion Technologies and Michael Saylor have been toned down. Lee had earlier predicted Bitcoin could reach between $150,000 and $200,000 by year-end but has modified his outlook, now suggesting a more cautious ‘probably’ reaching $150,000 might be more realistic.

Saylor, meanwhile, remains firm in his prediction of $150,000, even after a significant market downturn that saw $19 billion liquidated recently. He maintains a long-term vision where Bitcoin could skyrocket to $1 million within the next four to eight years, and even aim for $20 million in the next two decades.

This long-term view has similarities to tech investor Cathie Wood’s recent adjustments; she modified her 2030 target from $1.5 million to $1.2 million per Bitcoin, influenced by the rapid expansion of stablecoins.

Currently, Bitcoin has seen a slight rebound, trading around $92,417, which is up about 1%. Meanwhile, forecasters on Myriad are becoming more optimistic, suggesting that Bitcoin could potentially soar to $100,000 before experiencing a drop to $69,000.

Despite the excitement surrounding these predictions, Bitcoin is still 27% shy of its all-time high. For Garlinghouse’s prediction to materialize, the price would need to climb approximately 95%, surpassing the previous peak of around $126,000.
