New Architect for White House Ballroom

President Donald Trump has brought on a new architect for the next stage of the White House ballroom project. The firm selected is Shalom Baranes Associates, which is based in Washington, D.C.

In a statement, White House Press Secretary Davis Ingle expressed enthusiasm, saying, “As we begin to move into the next phase of the development of the White House Ballroom, I am pleased to share that the extremely talented Shalom Baranes has joined the team of professionals who will execute President Trump’s vision for the construction of the White House Ballroom, the largest addition to the White House since the Oval Office.” He went on to describe Shalom as an experienced architect who has influenced the capital’s architectural landscape for years, noting that his expertise will be invaluable for this project.

Naming and Consultation

Initially, McCreary Architects was chosen for the ballroom’s design. However, White House officials mentioned that McCreary will remain a trusted consultant on the project.

Construction commenced back in October, resulting in the demolition of the historic east wing of the White House. This extensive project, reportedly privately funded, carries a hefty estimated cost of $300 million, a jump from the original $200 million expectation announced earlier in July.

Update from the President

During a recent Cabinet meeting, President Trump commented on the construction progress, sharing a few humorous insights about his wife’s feelings on the ongoing noise. He quipped, “I can’t say my wife is thrilled. She can hear the pile driver behind her all day and all night.”

Trump believes a review for an addition like this has been overdue for about 150 years. He confidently stated, “I think it’s going to be the greatest ballroom ever built.” The addition is planned to host large gatherings and state visits and aims to be completed before his term ends.
