YouVersion’s Most-Read Verse Again Highlights God’s Presence in Trials
For the fourth time in six years, a verse reminding users of God’s presence during challenging times has topped the charts on the highly popular Bible app, YouVersion.
YouVersion announced on Thursday that Isaiah 41:10 has emerged as the most highlighted among 2025 verses, reflecting what it called a “testimony to the enduring need for God’s reassurance in uncertain times.”
This Old Testament verse, presented in the NIV translation, reads, “Fear not therefore, for I am with you; do not be discouraged; for I am your God; I will strengthen you, and will help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Bobby Gruenewald, the Founder and CEO of YouVersion, shared that the verse resonates deeply because it meets one of our core desires: the assurance that we’re not alone. “In a world filled with so many anxieties, people find comfort in God’s promise of companionship and support. Its timeless message continues to be relevant,” he noted.
This particular verse has also been the most highlighted in 2023, 2022, and 2020. In 2024, for instance, the standout verse was by Philippians 4:6, which advises against anxiety, encouraging individuals instead to bring their concerns to God through prayer.
YouVersion recently celebrated reaching 1 billion downloads, nearly 17 years after its launch on the Apple App Store in 2008.
The app’s popularity has surged, with 2025 projected to be its strongest year yet. Remarkably, all Sundays in November witnessed some of the highest engagement levels in YouVersion’s history, with over 19 million users accessing the app on the first Sunday of the month, setting a new record.
On New Year’s Day 2025, more than 3 million users signed up for a one-year Bible plan, marking an 18% rise compared to the previous year.
Globally, engagement with the Bible is set to rise significantly in 2025. Daily activity soared by 27% in sub-Saharan Africa and 33% across North Africa, the Middle East, and Central Asia. Even North America, YouVersion’s largest market, saw a 14% increase in daily use.

It remains alive, active, and relevant to our everyday lives. These numbers reflect countless lives transformed and individuals discovering hope, direction, and purpose within God’s Word.”
