Menefee on Bradshaw’s Lasting Presence in NFL Show

During a recent interview, “Fox NFL Sunday” host Curt Menefee made a bold statement about Terry Bradshaw, saying a hearse would be needed to remove him from the pregame lineup.

Bradshaw, who is 77 and a four-time Super Bowl champion with the Steelers, has been a fixture on the program since it began in 1994. He’s known for his memorable on-air moments, both good and bad.

Menefee, who is 60, asserted, “That’s never going to happen! They’ll take him away in a hearse; he’s not leaving the show,” urging that Bradshaw should remain. “He shouldn’t either!”

Menefee emphasized Bradshaw’s foundational role, recalling that he was the first person hired for the show and the first face on the network. “I don’t think he’s ever going to leave. And neither should he. He’s the heart and soul of everything we do at Fox Sports.”

This Sunday, Menefee will share the stage with Bradshaw, alongside Giants legend Michael Strahan, retired tight end Rob Gronkowski, and longtime analyst Howie Long, who has also been a part of the show since its start in 1994.

Reflecting on his experiences, Menefee noted, “I grew up watching Terry Bradshaw and Howie Long… it’s surreal to be around these guys.” He joked that he and Strahan feel like “two kids” on set. “When I first came back, they welcomed me warmly and made me feel part of the team immediately.”

Bradshaw missed Week 11 of “Fox NFL Sunday” due to a cold, drawing attention online. He reassured fans with a social media post saying, “It’s okay.” Meanwhile, Menefee revealed his own connection to Bradshaw, noting that he would not have joined the show without his support. “They held auditions, but Bradshaw insisted, ‘We want Menefee,’ and that really influenced the executives.”

This season also saw Gronkowski joining the pregame crew, stepping in for Jimmie Johnson, who announced his retirement in March after serving for 31 years.
