Trump Backs Trevor Neals for Texas Congressional Seat

President Donald Trump has thrown his support behind Trevor Neals in the race for Texas’ 22nd Congressional District. This comes just days after Neals announced his intention to run, stepping in to replace his twin brother, retiring U.S. Rep. Troy Neals (R-Texas).

In a post on Truth Social, Trump praised Trevor Neals as a “MAGA warrior,” affirming his complete backing for the candidate’s bid to serve the district. He expressed his endorsement, stating, “I am honored to endorse MAGA warrior Trevor Neals as he runs to represent the great people of Texas’ 22nd Congressional District,” and emphasized Neals’ dedication to key conservative values.

Trump also mentioned Neals’ background as a Fort Bend County constable and a retired U.S. Army colonel. He described him as a staunch supporter of law enforcement, veterans, and national defense, claiming that Neals “knows the wisdom and courage necessary to ensure law and order.”

The endorsement further aligned with Trevor Neals’ America First platform. Trump remarked, “In Congress, Mr. Neals will work hard to maintain our very secure borders, stop immigration crime, grow our economy, reduce taxes and regulations, promote MADE IN THE USA, enhance America’s energy independence, defend election integrity, and safeguard the Second Amendment, which is always under attack.”

The post wrapped up with a clear declaration of confidence in Neals’ potential: “He will be fantastic!”

Following his brother’s decision to retire, Trevor Neals entered the race for the Congressional seat, highlighting his connection to the area and willingness to serve. “I know this district, and this district knows me,” he stated. He also committed to standing firmly alongside President Trump, promising to continue the efforts his brother initiated. U.S. Rep. Troy Neals expressed his support, assuring that Trevor is “ready” without the need for any on-the-job training.

This endorsement from Trump follows recent support for a bill initiated by Troy Neals aimed at significantly boosting the annual pensions of Medal of Honor recipients. The new legislation would raise their pension from around $16,880 to approximately $67,500 a year. In his comments, Rep. Neals thanked Trump for signing the bill, describing it as a tribute to the nation’s most honored military heroes.
